First Things First
Guess who's taken it upon her pale shoulders to potty-train her very own self?
Yup.
This one.
Even besmirched with marker,
she looks angelic.
Unfortunately, the common denominator of this excursion into the world of potty entails the bigger girls shouting at various points during the day, "Mama! Come quick! Luci took her clothes AND diaper off and she's running to the bathroom AND SHE ALREADY [you fill in the stinky blank]."
Turns out she hasn't yet learned the finer points of stripping and sprinting for the bathroom while there's still a need to sit on the toilet.
But look!
Angelic.

I applaud Miss Luci's endeavor to shed the diaper! Good for her. Soon, it will all relate and she'll be a pro:-)
Much love!
Who needs coloring bks. or paper!
Look at that proud face, you're on your way great job Miss Lucy!!!!
I remember trying to potty train my kiddos, as soon as I got frustrated & stopped they did it themselves. It is true it will happen when they are ready.
OH, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that first picture- it is Norman Rockwellesque in the perfect blend of marker and smirk. I love it. Fabulous!!!
Hi - I found your blog through a comment you left on "Renaissance". Luci looks adorable, and my older daughter (20 months old :-) is named Lucy too, so that's special. How old is Luci, now that she's starting the potty training adventure? I keep wondering if it's time for us...
Mary P.,
Hullo and welcome!
Our Luci is 22 and a half months old, and, truth be told, she's not very successful at this business so far. It may be because I'm not giving her many tips because I'm always in the other room! :)
Our oldest was potty-trained, mostly of her own volition, by 20 months, and I hoped all the rest would follow suit, but each girl's "gotten" it at a little different age (and ALL older than Millie was).
I say, if she's interested, go for it! It's definitely worth a shot, and if the training takes, then your diapering duties are cut in half, which is not a bad thing at all...
