No News.

I know! Two posts in one day!

This is what moving does.

John moved our scratchy couch and chair to the road (one's already vanished; may the new owner itch in joy). Our living room now has two places on which to rest a body. The rocking chair that will travel with us and the floor. In the stead of our old resting spots are boxes of books and bins to weed through. It feels good to rid ourselves of things we'd forgotten we owned and things we wished we didn't own and things we don't know how we came to own.

Quit distracting me!
I need to go sort stuff.

Here are pictures from today's fresh air.

  1. Now that you are going to be moving within four wooden walls-what will you do about furniture if you are giving it all away now? Just curious.

Oh yes-before we moved, we took the toodler bed apart and took it to the church to wait for your move. When you get all settled, maybe you could get it-or round up a farming family for the task-or maybe your new neighbor, Elizabeth could be of service.

Anyway-that is just ONE more thing for you to sort out-but I hope it is a GOOD sort out! :-)It is there waiting, whenever you are ready...

  2. We moved in here without furniture (even sleeping for a bit on the floor before we were given a mattress), working our way up from a large pillow and a rocking chair. Taking the scrappy furniture we got from Amvets and the side of the road just isn't worth it when one considers that we'll easily find more of the same in Binghamton. (We are moving the dressers/table/bookshelves, though, and once/if we get nicer furniture, we'll definitely take it with us on any future moves.)

Thanks for thoughtfully saving the bed! I just assumed that you had taken it to a thrift store because we weren't certain about when we could get it. Wahoo!
