If one's bedroom has muddied green wallpaper at least 30 years old, which comes off on tape that was affixed to the backs of doodles and collages, leaving glaring white squares on the bare walls, here's the remedy.
To replace the white squares with green splotches, carefully mix burnt sienna, chinese white, and viridian hue to approximately the same shade of muddy green. Brush watercolors over wallpaperless spots.
Voila!
(Sadly, the splotches are as obvious as the white patches were.)
Freshman year my roommate and I drilled holes into the cement in Shen to hang a hammock...
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved out we simply filled the holes with tartar control crest...
No worse for deposit wear...
But yeah, it was the wrong thing to do...
If you and your husband friend need help moving keep in mind that I fly for free...
Okay. I am a rebel-using your blog as a means for email. I can't access Matt;'s work account, so i don't have your regular email address. I almost used the fridge address but wasn't sure if you would be checking it yet.
ReplyDeleteSo here is the response to your email.
#1-If you think I look like THAT, HALLELUJAH! I wish! (She does resemble me a TEENY bit (or I her) I think it is in the eyes. Everything else I wish I could claim! hehehe
#2 You are certainly deserving of Peppermint Tea-come anytime, except this weekend, or I am afraid I won't be much company (as we are headed to NY).
#3 I would love anything extra for Corynn-though I am starting to get a complex about taking all of poor Millie's clothes. Especially since you have two more girls in waiting. Besides-she can't POSSIBLY have THAT many clothes. If you are TRULY looking to get rid of them, pass them my way-but please don't LOOK for things to give me because there is a dire need in the Newman household. OKAY?!? That's settled then! :-)
Thanks for the email-it was nice hearing from you to me personally! :-)
Job,
ReplyDeleteI wonder if green, minty toothpaste would have worked as well (or not so) as the watercolors? If we weren't moving in the middle of the week, we'd definitely take you up on your offer, not so much because we're in desperate need of help but because it'd just be so much darn fun. (If you're still at the same job in about a year or so, we'll be moving again. You could make a whole weekend of it!)
Rebecca,
My mom and sister thought she looked almost exactly like you, too! Seriously, you should watch the movie and see yourself for yourself. Quite a lovely woman, if I do say so again.
Moving is just the thing to illuminate the burden of belongings. I will be more than happy to send some extra along. You are doing US the favor.
