Hey, I found your blog through Kelly Penney, my sister in law. She pointed out that you came to visit our little church in Copiague years ago. Such a small world. How are things? And what are elephant ears?
Hullo, Gracie! I don't really remember particular faces from our visit, but John and I both mightily enjoyed our visit. That much I do recall. Elephant ears are one of the yummiest treats ever. They're large circles of deep-fried dough that, hot from the sizzle vat, are liberally dusted with cinnamon-sugar, powdered sugar, or one's choice of pie filling. When I was younger, a trip to the county fair just wasn't complete without splurging hard-earned money on one of these overpriced rounds... I guess not much has changed in 17 years.
