Actually, we have a whole book entitled "Play with your food", and it is all about fruits and vegetables that look like things (with a little help), usually animals. You must see it some time.
We always did this with garden produce growing up, and it's too late to break the habit when I pick an interesting one. We were handed down the book How are You Peeling?, which sounds similar to the one you have. Millie especially loves it.
