This is what met me when we pulled in the driveway at my mom's. Over the phone, she'd asked me if I wanted a few more tomatoes to can, and I said yes. Silly me.
WOW! I am JEALOUS of all the possibilities in those boxes! I am NOT, however, jealous of all the work that it requires! If only I had ONE of those boxes for a bit more salsa. I swear, Matt sees me canning and feels free to eat it up as it is made. I might as well not CAN it at all-just put it all in the fridge!
Those poor things STILL have not been made into sauce, and today's the day!
Matt + salsa sounds like John + pickles. I made 39 quarts before our plants petered out, and it's not going to be enough to last through January at the rate he munches them.
I think the trick for next year might be to not let them know how much we've canned. Put a quart or two out in plain view, but hide the rest away so that they feel like they need to ration their goodies.
