The Bird is one today!
The occasion warrants an electronic voice, wounded computer or not, so I made the long trek over to Becky's house to give it one.
A dozen months to the day have passed since our little Bird flew from her world right into her Papa's hands. A few months after loss, God mercifully formed Susannah Wren; she filled her own place, and her restless kicks made me grin in the dark. Today, as she nestled into my neck, I felt her chubby hands patting my back as I've so often patted hers, and I grinned again. God is so good.
Happy Birthday, Sweetling.
Happy birthday susannah!
ReplyDeleteSo fast! She is such a pretty infant! Praise God, indeed!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Susannah!
ReplyDeleteWow, babies grow so fast!! I want them to stay little forever!! :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSANNAH!
happy birthday to your dear little bird. may God bless her always.
ReplyDeleteMy mom shares a birthday with this little bird. I guess good things are born on that day:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girl.
It's so hard to believe that Susannah Wren is already one- time flies on the wings of a cute little bird I suppose :) Happy Birthday and So Many More Blessings are wished to you today Susannah :)
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking the other day, how we have been blessed to expectantly await with you and welcome the appearance of each of your sweet girls.
ReplyDeleteSusannah is a dear babe and I look forward to seeing her grow into a similarly charming girl.
Happy Birthday Susannah...
And now for the BIG question.
What cake has she requested?!?! :-)
Abigail,
ReplyDeleteWhat is John's boot size? I have a pair of black police boots, which were purchased for at me at no small expense by the taxpayers of St Albans, VT, during my tenure as a police officer, and which I only wore once to traffic court. They are a little shiny from a spit shine I applied, but they are utterly black and of the highest quality.
The combination of black and quality reminded me instantly of John, and I wondered if he had need of a new pair of boots.
I'm on my sister's computer for business but couldn't resist poking my head into shotsnaps.
ReplyDeleteThanks, all! She had a good day and requested a bird cake, which I made. It was a near flop in appearance, but, judging by her enthusiastic mauling of it, the taste was exquisite. Pictures to come, someday, when the computer rises from the ashes.
Josh,
John's not usually spit-shiny, but he is a Man in Black of the Highest Quality. He's needed boots for a few years now, but he has funny feet. He's a size 9 1/2. If the size matches and you so desire to give, shiny boots would be received with joy, but what should we do with them if they don't fit his funny feet?
Happy birthday, little Susannah! :D
ReplyDeleteAdd my belated "Happy Birthday" to the list! I hope Susannah had a wonderful birthday. :) I can hardly believe she is 1 year old! I can hardly believe my Noah turned 3 the day after Susannah's birthday! I can hardly believe my Isaiah is 4.5 months old! How is that time just flies faster with each precious baby blessing?!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Leah
They are size 9 1/2, and I am sending them. If they don't fit then dispose of them as you wish. I was issued a new pair every year wether I needed them or not and so I have a couple of pairs kicking around taking up space. A fair trade for all of the great baby clothes you shipped to us.
ReplyDeleteThe boots are a tad shiny, but they will not remain so on the slushy, muddy, scuffed up curby streets back east.
This will also be a good opportunity for John to learn what it is like to walk a mile in my shoes. I think he needs the perspective.
I'm not sure if we have your address or not. Could you send it to me by e-mail at barefootkangaroo@aol.com
i miss your bloglings. and i think that if the boots don't fit, you can either a) add them to the girls' stock of dress-up gear or b) plant things in them, like sunflowers or zuchinni.
ReplyDeleteImpeccable comment timing, Winona. A million snapshots have now been posted, and every last one is for YOU.
