Our card for the Discovery Center is good for the zoo, too, woohoo! On Saturday, we went there. Ross Park Zoo is small and doesn't have many animals, but these three were especially winsome.
Looking for "wolfses," which are, as Annie continued to inform us, "mean amnals." She knows this because of being read too many Little House books.
Millie on the lookout for some mean animals.
This small boa constrictor probably wasn't expecting it, but the girls kept smooching him through the glass.
Annie liked the snow leopard.
I liked the aviary and the black-necked stilt.
John liked Annika.
And Millie liked the penguins. (She got that scrape outside of the laudromat.)
Their patience was rewarded when this funny penguin swam close.
"too many little house books"
ReplyDeletethat's an oxymoron if i've ever seen one
Your trip looks fun, too. Sorry about the carousel. It did tie for best fun of the day with the miniature choo choo train... even amongst so many animals with their eyes open.
ReplyDeleteThis was one of the things I had planned for our journeys North.
ReplyDeleteInstead, we got buckets of snow poured on us.
Yep. fun. :-)
I think the Sciencenter was a good choice. I didn't find a single astronaut sleeping at the zoo with the other animals.
ReplyDeleteOh, and it's okay about the carousel. It opens up in three weeks, and, besides, John surprised on the drive home from church on Sunday by driving to Syracuse while we were asleep. We went to the carousel in the mall there, and the girls were giddy.
ReplyDeleteThey had one ride. Annie laughed uproariously the whole time, and Millie immediately named her mount "Flower"-- she kissed and petted her during the ride itself, and then when it was over, she buried her head in John's legs, trying to hide her disappointed tears that she had to get off.
