In my mom-in-law's last package, she included these. The girls and I have had fun with them.
Millie is having fun; she was trying her utmost to keep a straight face, though.
I made them sit down at the table and cover their eyes until I finished them. With peaches I canned last summer, twizzler mouths, and garnish from the cupboard and our garden, their breakfast was pretty cool. I was jealous.
The next day, we used the molds to make whole-wheat pancake snow-bears, which we covered with snow ourselves.
The gift of bear-molds served as brief inspiration to make edible stories for the girls, and at lunch, I surprised them with these. The plotline is twofold. In the background, pirates are boarding a galley ship to steal any valuables from the whip-wielders and to take them back to the pirate ship in order to make them walk the plank. In the foreground, Captain Ahab sails the seas in his tomato boat, searching for Moby Dick, who is rushing toward him full-speed and with mouth agape. How's that for a cheery lunch repast?
