Speedy Delivery

A few minutes after writing the post below, we got the call that Nicholas Trent has arrived, just in time to share Uncle Luke's birthday! He's in the NICU right now, so please pray that he adjusts well and quickly to this great, big world, and continue to pray for Beck and Eli as they get to know their new son.

  8. Nicholas had a prolapsed cord, which caused him to have a bowel movement before birth (which, if you have medically minded parents, you know the baby can then breathe in, which often causes it to be impacted in the lungs and creates lots of problems after birth). His heart rate was also in the sixties for ten minutes, and it was another five minutes after that point before it increased to the normal 130's again, so we are all thankful, Becky and Eli assuredly most of all, that the Lord protected him so fully! He is home, happy, healthy, and as cute as a button! (And about as big as one, too...) Praise God!

And thanks for the birthday wishes! Twenty-nine is a mighty achievement, and I congratulate myself for having reached it alive.
