This is my favorite shot of all the postings, except of course, of Piper. I LOVE this shot. I also love that you found a way to make the shadow corners-it adds that measure of perfect to this photo! Did you use Flicker?
Donald (at least in the comics, not to disparage many good cartoons by the Disney crew, but the Donald that Carl Barks introduced us to is simply a far more wonderful character) and Goofy are excellent additions to anyone’s comic lexicon. One can’t eat the cake which is Scrooge at every meal. This post nearly makes me wish I had little ones myself, if only for the joy of vicariously enjoying my favorite comics all over again. Nearly. “Woohoo!” – is what I mean. And also a “woowhoo!” on the birth of Ms. Piper Joy. I was going to add my congratulations on the post with a billion congratulations, just to add another masculine note to the largely feminine choir, but I thought it more appropriate to place it in the post with my name in the title. Because, you know, my name is in the title. Sweet. And congratulations. Good job on the cool baby. John too.
I might be able to eat Scrooge at every meal... John just picked up a new one last week, and I devoured it handily.
Children are not at all overrated. I think that you, like John, would find great pleasure in watching grubby children enjoy their first, second, and on-for-a-lifetime tastes of fine comic offerings. (I think I feel similarly when I watch the girls playing in the same woods and meadows I loved when I was younger.) Vicarious joy is a powerful thing, and it's a definite perk to having these four around.

ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteI didn't use Flickr, but I think it's the same free program that Flickr users have access to.
