Good Thing We Like Tomatoes

On quite a few late summer/early fall days, this was the cleanest spot in the house. You should be as glad as I am that I took no pictures.

We ended up with nearly 200 quarts of foody stuff for the winter, though, so yeehaw for messy days and bleary, late nights (which were also quite messy).

Jars of tomatoes were crammed on every flat surface in our kitchen, but they looked most photogenic here, with floating peppers for company.

  1. beautiful!! it is so good to see you--through beautiful words and pictures--on here again. i'm so glad that, except for perhaps one more batch of apple juice, the canning/freezing is done for the season. i love it while it lasts, and love when it is done for the season.

  2. Apple juice! I've never canned that before, but I've still got a bunch of apples sitting on the porch.

I was so wiped out by the end of the rest that I haven't had the gumption to tackle apples yet. I love canning, too, but by the end of the season, I've dying for it to be DONE ALREADY!

I love your comments, Winona, but it'd be good to see you on here through beautiful words again. Oh, come and putter on your green! (I'm very close to begging...)
