Unintentional Nap in Pictures

The week after we learned about our new baby, I took a nap. A NAP! It was delicious, and it's only documented because I fell asleep accidentally with the camera on my lap.

Millie read beside me.

Piper gnawed plastic beside me.

And I woke up to this. (Tent caterpillars are also not allowed in the house, but she found it inside, so it's okay.)

Upon waking, we heard cousins on four-wheelers, and ran outside for rides.

My nap ended on the haybales. Nice nap, eh?

  1. hmmm...this is a little, um, passive-agressive. unless I missed something...but still, so glad for you!

  2. Congratulations to you and your family! Loved getting caught up on what's going on. I'll be praying that the house buying goes through smoothly! And that you have lots of energy and feel well!

  3. Looks like Millie's reading a big book! (Of course, that doesn't mean she read the whole book, but it looks like it was written for older people.) I always think Deirdre is a very good reader (and she is) and then I see a picture on your blog of something Millie's reading and it gives me a pause. . .You must be happy with how voraciously she reads books.

Wow, Aponie (is that how you spell it?) looks a LOT different than last time I saw her.

Sarah, read the first post at the very top again. Read at the end of the post, and click on the link, read Laura's comment.

Millie looks like you again to me in the last picture. (Sorry, once I get going I can't stop. I have to point out every instance.)I like the sun on their faces.

  6. I did read it, but still, passive-agressive fits the bill. I may be a little offended at that. Hmmm....

I am very excited, though, don't you worry.

And not offended at all, just so you know. I like Abigail's wiley ways.

  8. Sarah,
It does come across that way now that you mention it! I didn't mean for it to. (Unless I'm SO passive-agressive that I fool even myself. Hmm...) The nap was brief but wonderful, and I thought it was funny when I realized that I'd unintentionally documented it.
    I'm glad you're glad.

    Cadie,
That's one of Millie's favorite books. She loves Greek myths, but her new obsession is Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books, which is kind of funny. And, yes, I am very, very, very glad she loves to read so much and is as proficient as she is. It makes home education a million times easier.

    Aponi grew! (How dare she?!)

And, you others, thanks for your welcome to this new baby. We are as glad as can be!

  9. I LOVED Nancy Drew. At the time, there weren't new copies of the original out, so my dad scoured antiques stores for me and gave me a few when he'd find them. We lived on Larkspur St...and there was a mystery on Larkspur Lane...I loved it.

  10. Me, too! (Loved Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys, both...)

I don't want you to think I'm knocking them, 'cause they're great. It's funny because Millie will say things like, "George loves sports, Mom, and Bessie is plump because she loves sweets. I like them both!"

  11. I'm plump because I like sweets. But I always wanted red-gold hair...
