I'm thankful that, thus far, I've only had to comfort the girls through the small griefs of chicken and kitten loss. Lewis was right about the worthy
perils of love.
We gave away the gray of Fruity's second litter, and the remaining pair stuck like glue to one another.
Cream soon found a new home, too, and then one sad, sunny day, Peaches met an early end.
The girls wept, I gave the small comfort that shared sorrow brings, and we buried her next to all the others in the growing graveyard out back.
Millie has such a tender heart, and I pray that as her griefs grow larger yet, she continually turns to the Great Comforter.
