Art History

The first artist we studied this year was Giotto, and before we moved onto the following month's artist, the girls made faux tempura paint (ground chalk mixed with egg), and we painted on scrap wood, a la Madonna and Child, only, you know, without the artistic genius of a master. (And it was still fun, imagine that!)

I loved stepping back for a minute and only then noticing that the girl to my immediate right was intently copying my paint-a-doodle.  It made me smile.

Luci was true to her own artistic genius (and sense of style, hence that monkey nightgown in mid-afternoon) and chose to paint a fascinating study of peachy-tan layered on peachy-tan layered on...peachy-tan.
