Tulips are some of my favorite flowers, and for the last two years, I've purchased fall bulbs at Aldi. These are some of last fall's batch. I bury the bulbs and then wait six months for confirmation that it's the best four bucks I've ever spent.
This year I promised Andrew we would plant some tulips after I saw first hand how our SINGLE tulip made him so happy. He would check it every.single.day and give me status reports.
And truly, a Dutch person has no excuse whatsoever to have only ONE tulip. Even if that person is only one-fourth Dutch.
I'm a quarter Polish. I tried growing kielbasa, but it was a flop, so I switched to tulips. Keep an eye out at Aldi, It's under five dollars for a pack of about 20 bulbs, which IS pretty much happiness. (So's kielbasa, but I prefer it in my belly, mostly.)
