Before the monsoon hit, back when I didn't know that planting rice was a viable option on this hilltop, we had a stretch of weather sublime. John cooked delicious food and served it outside, and I shouted in triumph, "Here we begin! Eating inside the house is off limits until November!!!"
Granted, I was a bit premature in this declaration, but at least I had the support of the people behind me.
What a good resolution.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I need to make a better outdoor eating area.
(And SOOOO much easier to clean up afterward!)
Oh, rain.
We started our outdoor eating back in April, though it has been fits and starts ever since.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do love our spot for eating, it is so far away that we tend to only eat lunch and dinners out there. At our previous mansion, the table was right off the kitchen and we ate there three times a day. I really like eating breakfast outside and I really miss it too.
Too bad the few extra steps hinder me so. (I am SO LAZY.)
The girls have been eating breakfast and lunch outside since April, too, in the fancy locations of the rock pile, the tree, the swing, under the forsythia, etc. Our Memorial Day get-together pushed me into finally hauling the patio table outside, so now we can enjoy dinner al fresco as a family again.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why it took me so long. There really is little better than a summer full of outside eating, unless it's my belly full of a summer of outside eating.
That made sense in my head. Sigh. So much does make sense in my head...
