My mom gave Piper a little pool for her birthday. The three big girls filled it before the well ran dry and then enjoyed it for the first time while Pip was napping. Unfair? A bit.
I worded that badly. Our well DOES run dry, but it didn't that day. Our well is the original hand-dug well, and the house inspector was pretty adamant that it be re-dug and protected properly. I usually can't water our garden for more than fifteen minutes at a time (so I don't bother), and during dry spells in the summer, I have to spread out washing machine use (which, given my grubby nature, makes it also easy to not bother.)
Washing baby diapers has never been a problem, though, probably because I ignore all proper cloth diaper protocol by washing them with the regular clothing (after scrubbing them out in the loo), with only one wash and one rinse followed by a line dry. Rebellious!
Did your well really run dry?
ReplyDeleteI've been doing SO much laundry these days (now I'm washing Sig's diapers) that I've been worried about ours...
