Forty-four years ago today, a shy, lanky man married this lovely farmer's daughter.

Five weeks passed, and I still wait for the sound of his van pulling into our driveway from the house just down the hill-- waiting for him to break up our day (sometimes multiple times) with whatever excuse permitted him to leave his to-do list behind.  Today is one in a string of them in which absence gapes too large.  Praying that the truest Comfort enfolds my sweet Mopsy.

  1. Dear Friend, I've prayed for you over and over again. May the great Comforter continue to cover you all. There are no words, just Hope. The prayers will continue.

  2. Oh, Carly, thank you. I know that another's grief, especially a person you've not met in the flesh, can be easy to forget. I'm guilty of it, myself, so I'm yet more grateful for your love and prayers to us. It is the season for Hope!

  5. Heidi,
And handsome! Looking through the old pictures, I'm constantly exclaiming over how handsome Dad is.

    Renata,
Thank you so much. Death is hard, even when it's earthly alone, but He is and He will, and I welcome your prayers whenever you're led to give them.
