Unpacking the Pomp and Circumstance

We used to wait until Christmas Eve to bauble the tree, but last year John saved my sanity when he decreed we decorate it on Christmas Eve's eve, instead.  I liked it so much that this year we did the same.

Once I started bringing out the feasty food, Zeke found himself yet more unable to take his first bite of supper, in front of which he'd been sitting for over half an hour while he grew more stubborn and the peas grew more cold.

Debbie and Joel came up, and the actual decorating seemed less chaotic than usual, due to Deborah's calming presence.   (Either that, or because she picked up the litter as we went along.)

A good night with these good people, if one sees true, is another gift to open before Christmas morning.
