Our Skinny-Bones turned six at the beginning of February.
Six is a big deal, folks.
It took four tries to blow out the birthday breakfast candles, but she persevered.
I stretched myself too thin on her birthday, so I was glad she'd requested a "plain blue cake to put princesses and pirates on." I made fondant and slapped seashells on a layer cake,
and left the difficult task of decorating for her.
Voilà. Now that's one classy cake!
Pip and Luci were (rightly) concerned that the candles might fall off the cake, but there was absolutely no room for them anywhere else.
One round of "Happy Birthday" later,
...and poof. Happy sixth, our little Light!
p.s. She's also a ninja. Here she is preparing to leave on her birthday date with John. She requested I take pictures and a video of her being a ninja, which involves swinging those stick-arms and legs of hers all akimbo while muttering, "Ninja. NINJA. Ninja, ninja, ninja." under her breath.
That birthday breakfast kinda looks amazing. YUM.
ReplyDeleteBuidabelly: Aunt Karen's Monkey Bread (only I cheated and made buttermilk biscuit dough to use, instead, because I hadn't made the sweet roll dough the night before).
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Six is a great age. I love the ninja moves. :) i had to smile at the cake. It certainly had plenty of toys on top! Just beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteShe is SUCH a rock-star superhero-ninja.
