I'm typing with one hand because the other arm is filled with baby. A narrow rivulet of milk runs from the corner of her lips, she softly sighs, and a sleep-smile flashes brief-- there-- just now.
She's beautiful.
Cadence Octavia arrived last Sunday evening, slipping swiftly into the world. She is a marvel and an always-been, both at the same time.
6 pounds, 10 ounces
19 1/2 inches from top to toe
dark hair
smoky blue eyes
heart thief
How lovely, she is just beautiful. Blessings on your entire family and blessings on your new little one.
ReplyDeleteI've been anxiously awaiting the blog update and have been on the computer exponentially moreso these last few days. I would say "Knock it off Rebecca! She'll post when she posts!" and then pop back on an hour later (just in case). Knowing all the while, of course, that there is something extraordinarily sweet about that bubble of time when baby and family grow to adore one another in the quiet space of 'still a secret'.
ReplyDeleteShe is such a beautiful, beautiful girl. So precious I can't keep from crying. (WHY DO I DO THIS?!) And her name is just perfectly suited to her.
Welcome Polka'poose, you just made this big wide world more beautiful!
Beautiful Baby Cadence! Welcome, sweet girl!! We've been waiting for you and covering you in prayer. Now, we glorify our God for His creation in you and for your safe arrival.
ReplyDeleteGod's Blessings to all!
Much love!!
Simply perfect. Lovely name. Congratulations to you all on the sweetest new addition.
ReplyDeleteI love that last picture. Her face reminds me a bit of Luci, maybe, in that picture--reminds me of someone, I can't quite put my finger on who. She definitely looks like an Owen! (or a Johnson - I can't tell which - but you can tell she belongs in the family! ;-) )
ReplyDeleteOh she is just beautiful Abigail! Congratulations!!!! I will admit that I've been checking in here regularly :) I love the name. Enjoy this newborn time :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome, sweet Cadence!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to meet you.
Congratulations, family all!
Yay! She's beautiful! And I love her name! She looks like Susie to me. :) I bet Zeke is very happy to have his baby sister. I can' wait to see you all! Much love to all of you. <3
ReplyDeleteIf you discover that there is increased traffic to your blog and this post in particular (I don't know how you would but you did, a while ago, find out there was some inappropriate doings going on around here) don't worry...it's just me. I am the blog stalker. I've come by to see this sweet face several times and she is more lovely each time. I think that though her hair is dark now, in this last picture it looks almost like it will turn reddish? In fact, maybe it is the eyes but she seems to favor Susannah the most and maybe Zeke a bit too.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see her in person! Thanks for the bit of lovely again this morning.
Congratulations on the new arrival! I loved the story of the van breaking down on the way to the hospital! Hope y'all are doing well.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the well wishes and for returning our joy with more, everyone! She is a wonderful baby-- are there any who aren't?--, and we're over-the-moon to have her. As for who she looks like, I'll let you all duke it out. :) (Tho' now I want to dig out Millie and Annika's baby pictures from the pre-blog era to see if they're in the running at all...)
"...whom she looks like..."
ReplyDeleteyours truly,
The Grammar Police
