It was nice to read your post again. I have missed them. I was wondering what kind of black plastic you use on your garden? I want to use it this year on my garden. And I am hoping and praying it’s a better growing season then last year. Amelia Cuffee
How precious! She looks adorable and having so much fun "swishing" in the leaves. I believe you dress up your babies in the cutest apparel. I think you could start your own version of, "Zulily" and also show people how to dress fashionably as in "Frugal-Fancy Pants." You too, always look great even to work in the garden. :-)
We used to buy bulk black plastic at Agway, but they no longer carry it, so I now buy it on Amazon. Black plastic mulch varies in thickness and width. I usually buy some that's on the thicker side (at least 1.25 mm) and that's on the narrow side (a yard or less) because I tend to smush my rows closer together than I probably should. The cheapest way to buy it is to buy a giant roll that's lasts for a few years. The downside is that it's heavy and extremely bulky, so it's good to have a helper or two when you lay it down. :) A couple of years ago I bought a huge roll that was 3 ft. by 2,400 feet for under a hundred dollars, but it looks like prices have increased.
Here's a roll on Amazon that's 4 ft. x 2400 ft. for $114.00, though. Hope that helps! And, yes, hoping for a much better garden year on our end, too! Last year was the most disappointing year I've had in 17 years of gardening, so I'm hoping the only way to go is up. :)
Molly, As usual, you are too kind. If you were only here to see me working in the garden, you might change your tune! :)
