Now that Grandma and Grandpa Owen live nearby, we get two birthdays for the price of one! Because Aidan and Piper's birthday are only three days apart, we lumped their second celebrations into one party.
Aidan received a bonafide mailbox!
However, a baby playing peekaboo distracted me from all the mailbox excitement.
Aidan's dream job is an armed mailman.
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night" (...nor dragons nor unsavory marauders nor wicked knights roaming in the Dark Forest) "stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
Yep. That's his kind of mailman.
Piper's gifts were full of faerie and flowers with nary a weapon to be seen.
Apparently, the week prior one of the children had revealed our ignorance of Cheese Whiz (Cheez Whiz?) to Grandma Owen, and she had to remedy it right away. Before they brought out the cake, every last child learned for the first time the wonder that is Cheese in a Can.
Then cake!
And singing...
And two wishes shared equally.
