Last of the Bunch

The day before Tom and Katelyn's wedding was another hot day, and we met the Johnsons at the lake. Mom and Joel had just arrived from New York, so the children had a cozy lap to sit on.

All the big kids charging the lake! Most of those bodies are Johnsons and Owens!

Later that night Sarah hosted us for supper, and I took a picture of Joshy in the light. He and Skylark agree that tabletop dining is where it's at.

When we got back to the house for the night, the girls had a show with the neighbor girls, who, over the course of two days, had become fast friends.  Homeschoolers unite!

Olivia, the older of these new pals, is the proud owner of many rabbits, and Millie fell in love with all of them. You'll eventually spy one of Olivia's bunnies on shotsnaps, because in a couple of weeks when they come to visit cousins in our area, Olivia is bringing one for Millie to buy. I'd better get started on building that rabbit hutch!

This is the spot where I should be posting pictures of Thomas and Katelyn's beautiful wedding. She looked as lovely as any bride I've ever seen, and Thomas' grin while she walked down the aisle was something to behold.

I'm a failure.

I forgot the camera in the van, and then Skylark was out of her mind for most of the afternoon. I walked around with her for an hour in the parking lot until she finally fell asleep, but she woke up 45 minutes later, and that was that. John and I took turns wrangling the three youngest, who were all on the verge of breakdowns for most of the day. It's only what we deserved for packing so much fun and so little rest into three days.

And you know what?  It was totally worth it.
