Or, we ALL had to walk the plank...
Hallowe'en 2019 was a doozy. Due to several excuses, only one of which is procrastination, we packed all the costume-making into a day and a half, but by the skin of our teeth we each left the house in some form of costume! We started trick or treating just in time for monsoon season, and before I post the pretty pictures next week, here are crummy snapshots upon our return home-- minus half the accessories and also without Cadence, who tore off her costume and ran for the bathroom as soon as we stepped inside.
We bestowed a Special Award of Distinction on John Darling, a.k.a. Ezekiel, whose perfect top hat lasted all of five minutes. Homemade costumes and monsoons do not mix.
That white reflection is not a reflection; it's the bare posterboard left behind when all the paint dripped off in order to ruin Ezekiel's brand-new-from-basement-storage shirt and embellish nearly everyone else's costumes. Award of Distinction!
Today, we must face the aftermath. (Note Tinkerbell's crushed wings in the foreground.)
What a night!
The only thing I had time to make for my costume was a feather.
Look how it droops in sad resignation, just like its wearer.
(And it was totally worth it.)
You pulled it together! I had NO doubts you would. Your expression in that last photo is just priceless. I am pretty sure I have that exact expression several times each day.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was DEFINITELY warranted after Trick or Treating in the rain!!!
Excellent job on the costumes- can't wait to see the pretty pictures next week.
...or next month. ;)
