Another Adventure!

The day before Ransom's birthday, while the older girls were gone, John took the rest of us on a spontaneous day trip to the library. It was a wonderful day! Highlights included the amazing parking garage and elevator (we parked on the top floor especially to squeeze all the excitement we could out of the experience), balloon swords from a street artist who thrust them upon our children as we walked past, and who probably regretted it when we did not stay for more, the sights and sounds of the commons after being stuck at home for weeks on end, the incredulous surprise of eating RESTAURANT BURRITOS, and, of course, the library-- our first visit since 2020-- which finally was a place to again visit sans masks, to loll about in, and to empty of dozens upon dozens of books.

  1. It's Ithaca!

John said that this summer, my old chum, has got to be the summer we finally make it happen. Big changes might be coming for you and yours?!

  2. Burritos the SIZE OF HER HEAD! (yum)

We've toe-dipped ourselves back into the library lately and it has been so nice. I wondered if we ever would, especially after I wrote a very long and detailed letter of concern to our library board including stats and resources detailing the detrimental effects of masking children for two years as well as the lack of scientific evidence to validate the use of them in the first place. The very kind and jovial librarian turned pretty icy at the end. But then she retired. ;-)

So glad you got this fun day. What an adventure!

  3. I have just relived the fall season but in a much more beautiful way - your posts and pictures. Your holiday pictures are some of my favorites, every year. We happen to have an unusually cold, April day here in the south and being allowed to view this special time with your family warms my soul. I am amazed at how much the children have grown! And as always, Halloween's, group costumed pictures are ALWAYS creative and wonderful. The days of reading on a comfy sofa, gathered around a festive table, or walking with best friends & beloved family, well, that's what life is all about - enjoying each other in the days we are blessed with. Thank you for allowing us to walk with you.

    Much love!

  4. Glad you're back at the library, Rebecca! Your family was a staple there for many years; I'm sure they're glad to have you back and see your smiles again.

    Molly,
Thanks for your kind words! I love that you're faithful enough to leave such nice comments on posts from last year. It's the best! :)
