We remain your faithful purveyors of fine art.
The girls form a strong bond with their Jesse tree ornaments, and when I heartlessly walk them toward the trash...WAAAAAIL. You get the idea.
The compromise lies below. Pictures! With a blog post!
Here are some of this year's choicest, from left to right, showing not the least shred of favoritism.
Millie's Abraham. I thought her fashion choice was superb. The very latest in robes are those replete with collars, pockets, and rows of red buttons. (The eye patch was simply a stroke of genius.)
Susannah's ram is fresh from the thicket. Also by Su are the angels lining the ladder to Heaven. (She was delighted when I told her, "Yes, you can decorate their clothes however you'd like." She then proceeded to coat them with a nice, rich black. City style. With shades!)
Moving on. Annika's serpent coiled around the tree, Millie's golden bag of rice (Joseph saves Egypt), Susannah's Mary and Child, Millie's slate and chalk (Zachariah), Millie's lamb,
Annika's Joseph, disguised with amazing, stretchy arms, but given away by his coat of many colors, Annika's torch (Gideon), and Susannah's rendition of the prophet Isaiah.
She did not mistakenly place a mole on his cheek when she mistakenly punched a hole through his forehead. It's actually the burning coal on his lips. See? All clear.
Until next year!
