A Hilltop Sea

When the day lilies begin to blossom, wide swathes of orange appear by the roadside, and all vases glow brightly for the few weeks following.

The luxury of gathering blooms by the armful never grows dull,

nor does taking pictures of girls enjoying the same.

  1. As I prepare for a long work day on the road I stopped in to take a peek and I have been thoroughly rewarded! Gorgeous lilies held in the arms of gorgeous girls! The colors are such a delight for the eyes to see. Love this post! I've never seen daylilies bloom in the wild like that. I adore daylilies! My wedding bouquet had orange daylilies and one white Easter lily in the middle since we were married on Palm Sunday (long story - will share sometime:-). All bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres had orange daylilies. Thank you for posting, dear one!

    Much love!

  2. They love to grow near ditches and the sides of fields around here, so I've always taken an orange abundance for granted.

Your wedding sounds lovely! My bouquet was full of yellow lilies, curly willow, and these red beauties. I only WISH anthurium grew wild 'round these parts! :)

  4. When we visited your place the last time, the flowers were shining brightly and we ooh'ed and aah'ed as we drove in your drive. It was very much like following the (orange) brick road.

Your photos of the girls are stunning-
