You've got one guess regarding what I'm avoiding by putting this lame post up.
Okay, break's over.
p.s. I posted two new recipes on
buildabelly this morning; they were an avoidance tactic, too, but there are only so many recipes I can post before beans and pickles-to-be drown them out. Vegetables are loud and annoying.
The better part of the little girl's nap time was just spent on catching up with your lovely blog. Time well spent, I'd say. I feel better about life now. I am glad to know that places like yours still exist. Like always when there is a picture from your garden, I feel like I should ask if we could come and live with you? Then I realize that it is a strange request...but why backspace over my strange and slightly creepy request when I've already typed it out? Ehhh
ReplyDeleteYou know how you mention every now and again how you just took the very same picture that I did?
ReplyDeleteWell, the roles are reversed now. This very morning I took the very same picture with a slight variation on produce. Mine is missing a red tufted Bird though, which is unfortunate. (I wish I could find that species around here...)
The other difference is that my pile 'o' beans came from a generous (or perhaps overwhelmed?) neighbors garden and not my own. I didn't plant NEARLY enough bean plants, I am finding out.
Oh, that looks soooo good! All of my neighbors have pulled up their dismal gardens due to the triple digit heat. Your bounty of goodness is beauty to behold!
ReplyDeleteMuch love!
Your produce is amazing!!! What a wonderful blessing! Hope you enjoy putting it up :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Renata:)
Carly,
ReplyDeleteI've said it before, and I'll say it again: we'll take you! Pip and Libby would have a blast and get into more mischief than a horde of Curious Georges. My favorite time was when you asked if you could live with us when we were in the off-grid trailer. Toilet tent? Pine tree shower? That's when I knew you were for real. :)
Rebecca,
It's funny, 'cause I'd just gone out to pick a few beans and cukes for supper and took this picture when we were in the middle of picking because I thought it was funny how much "a few" became. You know how that goes. :) Pretty much all summer veggies are in high production now, save tomatoes and sugar peas. We're getting a few here and there, but no big bowls yet. Waiting...
Molly,
Your comments always help me see this easy climate from a fresh perspective. It is a good thing!
Renata,
We are grateful, for sure. The Lord does His gracious work on our plot of dirt each year, and we come up with hands brimful! As far as canning, the first hundred quarts are pretty fun, but by the time 250 rolls around, I am DONE. Canning isn't charming when I'm hot, tired, and grumpy. (I should work on the "grumpy" part, huh?)
