Lucinda's personality is all her own, and her quirks and mysteries are a gift to unwrap. We love you aaaaall the way to the
other side of Plano, dear Duck-horse, and beyond that to Coconut!
Happy birthday, little one!
Ever since Annika had "birthday-cake pancakes" at Aunt Becky's house for a sleepover breakfast (thanks for nothing, Beck), all the girls have visions of how wonderful they must be. So, with a bit of manipulation from persuasive sisters, Lucinda requested birthday-cake pancakes for her birthday breakfast.
How hard can they be, right? Harder than I thought. I didn't look up a recipe until birthday morning, and, lo and behold, they all call for cake mixes, so I had to make a homemade "cake mix" to fold into my pancake batter. It would have been easier to just make her a cake for breakfast and call it good.
Essentially, I think that's what they got, anyway.
Later that night, sporting her fourth birthday outfit of the day, Luci unpacked her cheesiest grin for a picture by the rainbow-stripe duck cake.
Poof! And then she was four.
That cake looks so good !!
