In which we trim the children, and then we trim the tree, just like the year before, only with everyone a year older.
I sometimes wonder what will thread my months together when all the traditions dependent on children-threads are no more. I guess I'll have to make new ones best suited to a grouchy old lady and a grouchy old man living together in a big, clean house.
Joel is not a child, but he ended up being here for Christmas, after all, and even though he didn't stick around for the group picture, we roped him into a quick portrait.
Trimming the children:
Then we took down the Jesse Tree ornaments and trimmed a Christmas tree in haste, for it was late, and the natives were grumpy
Ransom entered into it all with gusto this year. He probably hung and rehung his nutcracker ornament a dozen times.
Yeah- those natives look SUPER grumpy with their cheerful grins and smiling eyes.
