Jesse Tree, i.e., Lotsa Mess (December 2022)

During Advent, the children made Jesse Tree ornaments which we hung in the sunroom because we were lacking the Jesse Tree.

The week before Christmas, we fetched a tree, and when we got back, I realized that my assessment of size was a little off. We finally got the tree inside the house (which, alone, took more time than normal because it would not fit through the door) and finally got it in the tree stand. At that point, Millie, laughing her head off, took a picture of Cadence by the tree, which overlapped both the piano and the bookshelf by a foot and a half.  Then, still laughing, she watched me lop off branch after branch after branch until, though still plump, it was not quite as formidable.

It's been quite a while since we decorated a bonafide  Jesse Tree, and we were happy.

I thought it was great that every last ornament that Zeke concocted was some giant, 3-dimensional beast.

Susannah even joined in the 3-dimensional circus with the stump of Jesse.

All in all, I highly recommend the tradition of Jesse Tree readings and ornament making.

Peace out.
