Hanging garlic.

Walking garlic.

We shared a cup of garlic ice cream. (Contrary to appearances, Millie is not elbowing Annika in the head, and she DID share.)

She loved it.

She did, too.

They had a few pumpkins, too. The girls are suckers for pumpkins.

John and Millie enjoying each other. When she was a baby, John would take her nearly every morning (after he'd worked the late shift the night before) so that I could sleep in. They still have a special kinship that I love to watch.

Winnie told us that in Sauguerties the following weekend, the town planned to have their annual Mum Festival. We went to the park where it was to be held before we left for home. It looked little like a park and everything like a private estate, meticulously landscaped and full of fountains, pools, winding paths, and mystery.

The Nixie in MumLand.

Winnie and I marvelled over this flame-flower planted around a large bronze fountain on the hill. Does anyone know its real name? If so, please share. They were beautiful.

Millie, rarely anything but a blur.
