Tell me more about this! I want to know so I can do it next year! Is that a pick-up truck bed?

yep, it's a truck bed, but only because it was the handiest way to store them before they were in the ground. (they're all individually potted, and i apologize for the picture's misleading appearance.)

You have such a fine basement, you could start tomatoes by seed at the end of this winter and have one hundred tomato plants when spring arrives without spending more than a few dollars. unfortunately, this is not what my parents did, as their basement is a bit...packed.
