In the Nick of Time

Well, in three months, Lord willing, this idyllic profile doodle will be obsolete. But, hey, at least there's no longer a doodle of us with a newborn Susannah! Maybe when Buster is a year or two old, I'll get around to doodling one of him or her outside of my belly.
Here's hopin'.

I think I say it every time you put up a new one, but . . . I love your doodles. You should make a business out of them, or something.

This is beautiful too. It'll be fun to look back at the progression of your family in these black-and-whites someday as children join year upon year.

Glad you all like it, considering it may be around for a year or two!

I'd originally drawn this in light pencil, planning to splotch it all over in color, but the girls woke up before I could do so. It's easier to make thick, black lines while they're awake than is to let them see the paint, so this is what resulted.

I do get tired of these prim black and whites sometimes, so I'm glad that this suits for a teensy, smushed profile emblem. (In real life, the girls would be falling out of the tree, and I'd be chasing after Susannah to keep her from tumbling down a giant hole.)

Oh, and Elizabeth B. from Buffalo!

I was ashamed when I read your comment. John and I failed! I'd say it's about time for a jello pudding and popcorn party. Come visit us, and we'll mend our ways and name the next child properly.
