Frugal Fancy-pants: Early September
EXHIBIT A.1:
Don't wear this sailboat skirt while sailing on a sailboat. Instead, wear it to church and then come home and stand by a tree because that's what frugal-fancy-pants-ers do, you know. (But mostly because we have no sailboat.)
Express shirt: a dime from a rummage sale
Sailboat skirt: a dime from a rummage sale
White wedge heels: $1.79 on Kohl's clearance
Gold waterfall earrings: around $1.50 on Target clearance
Optional accessory: Good ol' John Wayne, a dog on a dog day of September-- free from the Underwoods
Total cost of outfit: under $3.50
EXHIBIT A.2:
Wear this gorgeous, gold dress to church because you've always admired it when your sister wore it, and she has passed it along. Realize when you look at these pictures that it looks much nicer on her, sigh, and pack it onto the far side of the closet.
Dress: free, handmade-- designed, hand-sewn (not machine!), hand-inked with hand-made stencils, hand-everythinged-- by your sister Deborah's college chum Just For Her (which is the reason why it looks better on her, I suppose)
Black strappy wedges: a dime at a rummage sale
Black beads: a dime at a rummage sale
Black studs: about a nickel
Optional accessory: John Wayne again
Total cost of outfit: about 25 cents
For good measure, just look at that beautiful drape!
EXHIBIT B:
Wear this outfit when you need to spend 8 hours pushing and carrying machines around the yard because ALL the grasses want haircuts. (Why do we do this again?!)
Red tee: a dime at a rummage sale
Funny shorts: a dime at a rummage sale
Trusty, antique crocs: hand-me-downs
Optional accessories:
-Safety glasses (I usually don't wear them, so I guess they're optional)
-Weed whacker: don't know how much this sucker cost, but I know it wasn't free
-John Wayne: Trusty old fellow-- free
