Frugal Fancy-Pants: Sometime in November

EXHIBIT A:
Wear this outfit when you feel the urge to fix all the broken things in the sunroom all at once, but first, the splintered deacon's bench that miraculously endures being overstuffed each season.

Blue shirt: nickel at a rummage sale
Fleece vest: nickel at a rummage sale
Ill-fitting jeans: dime at a rummage sale
Reebocks: dime at a rummage sale

Optional accessories:
-a drill and screws (but those aren't really optional if you actually want to fix things)
- a Bacardi rum box (which your husband picks up from the liquor store because they're the perfect size to store paperbacks he's sorting through)
- a pile of gloves, hats, etc., soon to be re-stuffed into the groaning bench
-several feed sacks of apples waiting to be turned into applesauce
- an underdressed boy, who always appears when the power tools do.

Total cost of outfit: about a quarter

EXHIBIT B:
Wear this outfit to church, even though it veered dangerously close to boring.

Tan jacket: dime at a rummage sale
That Same Calvin Klein dress: a dime at a rummage sale
Tan shoes: a dime at a rummage sale
Gold earrings: under $1.50 on Target clearance

Total cost of outfit: under $2.00
