In Which We Meet the Future President! (7/2022)

 

The first Nanticoke sighting of Ian Alden brought the townsfolk in droves. Luke and Jae Ryong drove down to introduce him when he was a perfectly plump three-month old, and as soon as they stepped from the car, a throng gathered. Everyone except the Alaskan Johnsons were able to make it, so quite the spectacle greeted this little guy.

Millie took these pictures on her camera, and they still make me tear up. Look at that proud papa! 

As soon as Jae unbuckled Ian from his car seat, Luke scooped him up so we could dote on him.

And his beautiful mama, more quietly proud but no less so.

This was mom's first time meeting the baby for whose creation she prayed so faithfully, and he is worth the wait! Our family joke is that Luke and Jae's town elected him mayor at three months old, he's currently governer of their state, and, eventually, he'll be our president (obviously, he deserves no less!). ;)

Joel couldn't resist slyly taking some of the focus off that round baby.

But for most of the day, scenes like this were the norm. For as long as he tolerated it, we all showed Ian just how much we adore him.
