Parties

We like parties. I take few pictures. Maybe that's because I don't remember to switch from manual focus before I take a picture?

Sigh.  Blurry picture from a cookie party.

The cousins formed a musical trio for our musical pleasure.

Hannah made Ransom a happy baby.

Eating cookies is exhausting.

I don't remember the occasion for these snapshots. Maybe a tea party here while the older ones partied at Purdys? I think that was it.

Piper made the muffins, and she and Luci set out the sugar.

Phone Leftovers

I took my phone to weekly worship when Newmans were hosting, and I took a picture of these matching girlies in their ball gowns.

But when we left, my phone got left behind.

When I got it from Rebecca a few days later, I discovered some bonus photos from Warren Center denizens...

AND THEY COMPLETELY DESERVE TO HAVE THESE POSTED WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION. I FEEL NO GUILT. (Well, maybe a little guilt...but you DID leave them on my phone!)

In January, Mildred passed her driver's test!

And I passed the You've Lost All Self-Respect fashion test.
At least I'm succeeding in one area of my life.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

What's that?  SPRING?

Of course not, silly.

I'm talking about that time of year when green is shooting up all over, warm breezes give hope, and I finally sit down to slog through all the pictures from mid-December through Epiphany.  I'll begin with that picture of the last hoar frost of 2020. Ah, yes. Those were the good ol' days.

THREE FEET OF SNOW IN MAY!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, wait.
Never mind. These are pictures from the week before Christmas.

As everyone reading this already knows, we got a bit over three feet of snow in December! Expecting only a foot and waking to find everything mushroomed under three feet of snow thrilled all of us (except probably John, who does not thrill to such things).

This may be the most snowfall my children experience in their lifetimes, and I wanted them to enjoy every inch of it....which I'm pretty sure they did, apart from that one night I won't mention when I was surly while shoveling off the chicken coop roof in the dark so that it can wait another six months before collapsing.

This was our pre-dawn glimpse, with more snow to come.

John Wayne must love us for bringing him indoors that night.

I didn't get out to take pictures of the children until later that evening when the snow had compressed several inches, but they still loved it.

Contrary to appearances...

If you don't know THIS Susannah, you're missing out.

Watch for it...

Wham.

FOUR FEET OF SNOW BURIED ANNIKA ALIVE!!!!

AND THE REST OF MY CHILDREN!!!!
(Not really.)

Zeke is levitating.

Later that evening, the children started shoveling out the cars.

Ransom begged to experience it all, too, so I obliged.

And here are two bonus videos I found on my phone, compliments of Susannah and Millie.
