Our Big Adventure at Oktoberfest

Yes, these are low-quality pictures from a low-quality photographer using a low-quality phone, but I'm tacking every last one on because they make me happy, even six months later.

Last year was strange. John was unevenly employed for most of the year, and for several months we barely saw him as he worked 3-ish jobs at once, the older girls were gone working and visiting friends down South, our big van broke down, and for the first year ever, we didn't have a single outing with our entire family except for church on Sundays, which made me sad.

This day, however, although Millie and Annika were gone, John pulled an unexpected adventure out of his back pocket as in days of yore, and the rest of us spent a few hours at the closest town's Oktoberfest.  Some time at the playground, carnival games for a quarter with candy prizes, free face painting (A first for Skylark! Cadence was too traumatized by all the newness to even try.), and hot dogs!!! It was wonderful.
