Just make sure everyone wears helmets. There's all sorts of people doing crazy things on the road nowadays.

Seems like a more prudent choice than wasting money on a new car. Hats off to the owens.

Ah yes, Scott. We did buy a new car....a new concept for you. But then again, we do a lot of things different than you.

I wish you would not speak as if you knew anything on the subject of prudence. For, if you were knowledgeable in the field, you would know that this purchase saves us over $100.00 a month in car payment and gas money. Not to mention, it has a bumper to bumper warrenty until 36,000 miles so we don't have to sock any other money into it. How is THAT for prudent?

And since we paid nearly as much for the car as we got in trade-in for our old, broken down blazer....I would say it was a VERY wise decision.

There is something to be said for having a reliable and dependable car. Actually, a lot! Yes, hats off to the Owen's for jokingly putting a photo of bikes on their blog. Hats off to me for walking everywhere I need to in town. And Hats off to my husband for providing for his family in a way that is both prudent and commendable.

I am not sure why you can not be happy for a Christian brother who is thankful for the Lord's provision in his life.

Dear me.
I knew posting a photo fairly exploding with controversy (i.e. Still Life of Bikes on Lawn) was a risky choice.

Scott,
Thanks for making my blog a more exciting place to visit. You just couldn't resist, couldja? :) Now just wait until you see what I have planned for your blog....heh, heh...

Rebecca,
Virtue exists in clunkers and in cushy, and I'm glad you know my photos were not indicative of any critique (I actually thought downsizing was a great idea, even before reading your comment).
I am also glad that you and Matt have a car that will save money and be dependable, especially since that means that you may be able to journey Buffalo-ward. (p.s. by "Tuesday," I of course meant "Thursday." A long letter is in some postman's mailbag and should arrive soon.)

Matt,
It's funny. We just got that bike and toddler seat on Freecycle; after using it once with Millie, John has decided that she can't ride in it again until we find a helmet. Then last night, the tire popped when he was out riding. The walk home was long. :)

Again Mrs. Newman proves she couldn't get a joke if it hit her upside the head. What makes her so testy, I wonder.

It seems to me that is your standard answer whenever I question something that you say. It makes it go away pretty quickly, while the suggestion is still there for all to see.

I guess my testyness comes from you being so insufferable!
