We took a whirlwind trip to visit our Owen family this past weekend in order to pick up a fancy computer one of John's friends offered him.  John woke me up to leave for the island (spontaneity!) at two in the morning, and we packed some fine adventure and a lot of good family into three days, yet I have no pictures of our Owen family. What's wrong with me?!  (Also missing are pictures of the children roasting free marshmallows on the sidewalk.  I don't deserve a blog.)

At least I have pictures of Luci and The Big Duck,

all the children with The Big Duck,

Nixie taking in the pier at Port Jefferson,

the best red boat,

my favorite man,

and children reading books I bought from a librarian to keep them busy on the drive back to John's parents' house.   So that's something.

I can't help but notice the juxtaposition of the Odyssey and the purple crayon. Too funny. Glad your trip went well. And I would glady take a little 2 am spontaneity if it meant doing something as a family outside of repairing the old home ruins. I still can't believe you were able to get out the door in an hour though- that is so incredible to me.

Hey, those two were free! Better yet, they kept the children occupied for the 45-minute trip back to the house. :) (I love that Millie's so bewitched here. If only I'd taught that girl how to read chapter books...)
