A Vanity Belly picture taken 3 days before Berry is due. I swathed myself in black, jutted my chin, and cropped off my legs (To balance the scales, I should show the picture John took the other night of my belly poking out from potato-sack pajamas....ha! But I won't.) Visitors-in-the-flesh are the only people privy to unfiltered glories of my double chin and round form. So come visit!

Thanks for sharing a photo of your beautiful "pregnant form" I'd like to know where you are hiding the extra weight, other than in the belly, because you still look somewhat willowy to me! :)
Look at that perfectly round belly! You are starting to get the 'I'm going to POP!' look about you-which is a good thing considering the time you have left.
I never got that look with COrynn because I was induced 3 weeks early...and it only comes at the very end. When my belly gets that perfectly round, I have this GREAT shot planned. I want to do it NOW but when I lay down, my belly still kind of flattens out a bit. Ah well. Something to look forward to.
You look lovely-and I love your 'do' too! Now-let's see if this here baby is as cute on the outside as it is on the inside! :-)
PS~On a completely unrelated subject...we got some packages yesterday! Matt was MORE than thrilled with his surprise(s). The book AND the article! I told him-"WOW. They really know you well!" He told me before he dies, if he could travel anywhere in the world, it would be to England(?)to tour the Victory.
The quilt square is beautiful and I love the symbolism. Of course I am going to use it! Silly silly girl! Yes. I am blonde-but I never thought to MACHINE applique. It doesn't seem as GRUESOME as the hand-applique job I did on Corynn's pillow! I might even give it one more chance!
Corynn thanks you for the special surprises Millie and Annie sent her way too. Especially the hair 'bracelets'. For some reason, she likes to wear them as bracelets instead of hair bands. Maybe because they are so pretty and all she ever has in her hair are little rubber bands. Pretty enough for jewelry!
As I write I am TORMENTED to stare at a brown package laden with bright colored temptations just TEASING me to pull. It is on the dining room table and THANKFULLY I have only three more days to wait. I can't bring myself to hide it from my eyes though. ;-)
Elizabeth,
In a spirit of love, I gently correct you. I believe you've been lax in perfecting your tree-identification and have mistaken the mighty oak, sturdy and robust, for the slender willow. :)
Rebecca,
Now that Berry has dropped a bit more, my belly has changed shape yet again. Can't wait 'til you get one of those (if you do). I had to be induced two weeks early with Millie, and I think even then my belly looked like it was splitting the seams!
I'm glad you all enjoyed the trifles in the package! Machine-applique is a breeze compared to hand-sewing, although it looks differently because you don't tuck the ends under. For the summertime quilt, I'll use my mom's Bernina for the applique I don't do by hand. The newer, high-end machines can apply applique beautifully, and I'm amazed at the difference.
p.s. all this is by observation, of course, as your square was the first I've ever done...but I've fiddled around with the stitches on my mom's Bernina and have seen HER finished work, which counts for something. (If not experience, at least another person's experience!)
