Winnie told us that in Sauguerties the following weekend, the town planned to have their annual Mum Festival. We went to the park where it was to be held before we left for home. It looked little like a park and everything like a private estate, meticulously landscaped and full of fountains, pools, winding paths, and mystery.

That is really pretty. I didn't know there were so many colors of mums. I can just see little sprites hopping from one bush to another, the moment their teeny tiny toes touch the flowers, petals fly throughout the air, leaving a trail of rainbow drops to follow.
The caretaker hadn't even finished planting all the flowers yet. There were potted mums along the pathways waiting to be placed into the hillside.
