Sugar-Bushing 2020

Mired in a case of late-winter malaise, I really, REALLY had no desire to tap trees this year and put it off for a solid week while sap flowed. Since we were fresh out of maple syrup, though, I had no choice!

At least there are always helper-elves in plenty around these parts.

I had no idea this picture was being taken by a small boy. GRUMPY!

Here's a tree-elf grin to balance the scales.

Rundy and I would live to join the Cool (And Exceptionally Delicious) Sugar-Bushing Club one day. Unfortunately, all of our sugar maples are way (way...) up on the back hill. We'll have to come up with something clever. Or just wait until our sons can be used for labor.

* love, not live (although live does make us sound impressively desperate)

Also, Debbies should never type comments on phones.

The boys will grow long legs and strong arms before you know it! You can read them lots of sugar-bush stories right now to prepare them for the task (just don't let them know about modern tubing and magical machines like snowmobiles and four-wheelers, and they'll be happy to haul the sap by hand).
