AN OUTRAGEOUS WASTE OF TIME AND TYPE
Susannah's quilt. Note Susannah and the birds that Mopsy appliqued in the center. She made it with vintage fabrics, which I love, and the blocks are made in the "Snail Trail" pattern.

That is SUCH a GORGEOUS quilt! Amazing! Wow. It is breath-taking.
What an amazing gift of love.
Quilting must be one of the most satisfying art-forms. I can't think of anything as lovely as this, half for the beauty to look at it, and half for the fact that it will forever cover one's bed and provide warmth and comfort.
I REALLY want to learn. Your mom makes the most splendid things.
I do love my mom's quilts. She caters to my tastes with bright fabrics for the girls' quilts, but she's made equally lovely ones in completely different styles for others.
She makes them big so that the grandchildren can use them until they're 'big kids,' and when they turn ten, she makes an adult-sized one. By the time they turn ten, the old quilt is worn and full of holes from ten years of daily use, so it's almost a necessity!
Sandy,
I agree completely. Here's a cool link to a lady who is a neighbor (and friend) to a family I know. In her "portraits" section, you can see an amazing quilt that features Rundy, who comments here occasionally. Her
A more direct link to the (in)famous quilt here. And since everyone asks, I will say right now that it was done all with fabric and thread. No painting. Not one little bit.
It's too bad you couldn't see Marilyn's entire collection last time you were over, Abby. Seeing the collection in person is so much more fun then a small image on the computer. But maybe next time you are up.
This quilt, indeed, is lovely!!!
I've viewed all the quilts on the page, I think, and was so amazed I'm sure I was staring slack-jawed at the screen. What incredible talent!!
