Nursemaid
Mildred was so solicitous to the monarch that I had to remind her to be gentle. She offered it clover blossoms, and when it didn't immediately dive in, she lined them up in a row for it to munch (she presumed?) at its convenience.

so wonderful.
last weekend we spent an hour or so watching a cicada leave its brown shell. i wish i had photos of that.
