Midway

Even though I felt self-conscious and silly, to appease those who've asked me to show off Baby Buster, I squeezed into the only snug shirt I could find in my drawers that are full of potato sacks.

I'm halfway there! Halfway to holding who's within, halfway to girly-hood (note the pale pink shirt), and halfway to the pinnacle of poundage. To play it safe, I always eat for five, and I view the medical profession's suggestion of a 25-35 pound weight gain, which I've nearly reached already, as a goal for only the faint of heart. I've got the heart of a LION!!! (A very hungry lion wearing a pale pink shirt...)

*** Disclaimer- So you don't think that I undergo a personality crisis when I'm pregnant, let it be known that I am not wearing lipstick or rouge. The girls were splashing in the tub, so the bathroom was as warm as the tropics. And, yes, I posted the most flattering picture I took. Sue me.

You look Stunning Abbie, and I MEANT THAT! Your baby bump is superceding mine at this point (mine is covered by chubbies, but I just don't feel like I am nearly as large as I was with Samuel) I can still fit into many of my regular jeans. They are snug around the belly, so I don't do it often, but just the point of being able to is crazy! :) But enough on me...You are BEAUTIFUL and Thanks So Much for Posting this Picture even if you did feel funny..I think of you often- I know I've said this before, but we really should get together sometime :)

Of course, you're BEAUTIFUL. I'm in week 18 right now...and in fact I have my first ultra-sound today
(2/20). Jeff really wants to find out the gender this time, as we didn't for Noah but I'm still not sure... I like the element of surprise! I guess I have until 1pm to figure out if we'll find out or not!
Either way - you look GREAT!

I know what you mean about posing for these kind of photos. I always feel silly, too, which probably explains the almost complete lack of those types of photos of me. Someday, I will kick myself, I know it.

You have such a cute little bump there! Did I miss you saying you're having another girl?! Congrats!

Rachel,
Thanks. :)

Elizabeth,
Thanks for nothing! I've moved up about four pants sizes, and I doubt one leg could fit into BOTH leg holes of my old pants. Sheesh, you crazy people who don't overachieve in the weight gain department. I just don't get it. :) (And you look beautiful, too...)

Liana,
Picture, please? And make sure you let us know the verdict!

Michelle,
Oops. I meant my OWN girly-hood. I always hated pink until I had girls and was given loads of cute pink clothing for them, and now look at me. I'M even wearing it!!! We don't find out what we're having until the baby comes out, but we always have high hopes that the bump is caused by either a boy or a girl. We'll see in a few months, but you can all place your bets starting now.

of course you're wearing lipstick, rouge AND mascara AND fake nails AND in your mind's eye I can see you're considering plastic surgery you beauty queen, you.

Abigail said...

hi! (That was Baby Buster.)

If I ever think about plastic surgery, you can slap my face for as long as you like. That offer stands for anyone, but, you, Sarah, would be faithful enough to deliver the goods.

Sarah totally would do it, too.

You look BEAUTIFUL!!!! (But you always do, really.) But you look glowing...

And a thousand thank-yous for posting the picure. I LOVE looking at my beautiful friends pregnant bellies. There's nothing like it.

Hi BABY!!!!

We found out - and as much as I kept telling Jeff "It's like peeking at a Christmas present" - it's really kinda neat knowing.

It's a GIRL! and I'm so tickled that I'll get to enjoy my lil' guy & now a girl!!!

I totally underestimate my readers.
There would probably be a line stretched around the block formed by people just dying for the chance to slap me, with both Sarahs leading the pack!

And I thank you two. I wish you could both come see Belly Buster in person.

Well....I commented a day or two ago but don't see it here now. I wonder how many OTHER comments went MIA on me...

Abby-you look beautiful. You have always reminded me of Snow White and Rose Red and your eldest is the same way-she doesn't even NEED the costume, and with it, there is no question~she was made for the story.

Anyway. My Dad says the most beautiful women in the world are the ones that are pregnant because they glow. And this picture is proof positive.

Now-to check on my other hooligan comments...

Abigail said...

Okay, to Sharon and Rebecca, the so-called "glow" is perspiration beading my face. The bathroom was HOT! Like the TROPICS!

And, Rebecca, that's one of the things I've always loved about your dad. He has such a genuine and effusive appreciation for pregnant women. It was always fun to hear him voice his views on the beauty that shoots out of a woman with child. Even when I was my biggest, hearing that made me feel lovely!

Abigail said...

Oh, yeah. And I think I've mentioned before that I've called Millie "Rose Red" since she was a wee one. I've always loved that fairy tale, and I've recently taken to calling her that as a nickname when we cuddle instead of Bumpkin, because she's growing into such a sweet beauty.

i love these comments...such a nice blog conversation!
And i love love love your belly!!!!!!!!! (see? the exclamation points tell you how much.)
