AN OUTRAGEOUS WASTE OF TIME AND TYPE
After church, with sleeping girls in the back, we went for a sunny, winding drive home. This is a church that a good friend of my brother-in-law Eli is building. The man is an amazing craftsman in stone and wood, as can be seen even in this blurry, through-the-window picture.

this is beautiful. where is it?
lovely!
It's about ten minutes away from us. I forget what group hired him for this-- an Orthadox group of some sort, I believe. They don't sit for services, so the inside is open. This particular type of hand-built structure is an unusual venture, and Mark and this church were featured in some news something-or-other because of its uniqueness. I'd like to live in a house like this. (No wolf would ever blow by the hairs of his chinny-chin-chin.)
It is really beautiful, and harkens back.
That is amazing. I wish there were some close up shots. From here it looks like he is one heck of a craftsman.
John wants to visit it for a walkaround, so I'll post pictures when we go. He went with Mark and Eli once to look at it, but I've only ever seen it from the road. (We were going to that Sunday, but Mark was there working on it, and we didn't want to bug him.)
Mark's an incredible woodworker, too. He made Eli a chess table that is just stunning. Makes me wish for a loan of the talent and the tools!
